If you are serious about playing guitar you will quickly realise that you will need to learn how to read music in some form.
Luckily there are a few options for guitarists to choose from when learning to read music. There is the more complicated but more accurate worldwide language among all instruments, which is musical notation. This is the best thing to learn as it allows you to truly understand music on many levels.
Guitarists have since formed a new method of writing music just for guitar called tablature (tab). Guitar tab is a very simple musical language but it lacks along of information that notation contains, such as true note timings, rhythm, etc. Guitar tab is really only useful if you already know exactly how the song sounds like.
